The name
“Barnaby bright, Barnaby bright, the longest day and the shortest night.”
Barnaby Bright is the old English name for St Barnabas’ Day, 11 June. Under the old calendar it fell on the longest day of the year. We named ourselves after it, spelt it Bryght, and make clothes for days like that: long, light and full of good company.
